WELCOME TO THE PROJECT

STARFISH

Educational innovation for safer and more sustainable fishing.

What is STARFISH?

STARFISH – Strategic Trainer Alliance for Responsible FISHing is an Erasmus+ project, dedicated to modernising training in the fishing sector, focusing on safety and sustainability through the creation of innovative training and educational games.

The project also aims to foster cooperation and the sharing of best practices among professionals in the industry.

What are the three pillars of this project?

Modernise Basic Training Fishery

The project focuses on bridging the gap between traditional training methods and the needs of the fishing sector . The goal is to provide VET institutions and students with modern and innovative educational methods and tools to provide an engaging way of learning. By participating in these innovative training activities, fishers will enhance their safety practices, understand sustainability better, and be better prepared for the evolving demands of the industry.

Creation of a Dossier of Best Practices

The project will compile a comprehensive dossier of best practices in safety and sustainability within the fishing sector. This resource will serve as a valuable reference for trainers in the fishing sector, providing useful insights to apply in their classrooms.

Development of a serious game and micro-learning pills

To make learning more engaging and effective, the project will develop a serious game alongside micro-learning pills. These interactive tools will help fishers better understand and retain important safety and sustainability concepts, making the training process both enjoyable and impactful.

STARFISH is a European project that brings together expert organizations in the fields of fisheries and training from four different countries: Belgium, France, Spain, and the Netherlands.
